Bow Island Golf Club

About Our Course

In 1955 a local group approached the Bow Island Town Council for the approval to develop a golf course. One year later the course was established and the first club house was moved from main street to the course.

The golfing numbers increased steadily and the course development included planting hundreds of trees lining the fairways and near the greens. Irrigation water from the SMRID has made it possible to maintain the course as one of the best 9 hole courses in Southern Alberta.

In the 90's George Thacker created the world's largest putter which can be seen today located just off the highway pointing the direction to the golf course.

We would all hope that you and your friends will come and take up the challenge of our golf course and enjoy what our facilities have to offer you.
